Should the Suns Sit Kevin Durant the Remainder of the Season?
The Phoenix Suns are currently a game and a half out of the final play-in spot. There are seven games remaining in their season. With their blowout loss to the Rockets, they have dropped three games in a row. If that wasn’t bad enough, Kevin Durant went down with a sprained ankle in the third quarter. Durant will not travel with the team as they start a three-game road trip in Milwaukee on Tuesday. Durant suffered the injury after colliding with Jabari Smith Jr. and appeared to step on his foot. KD had 11 points and eight rebounds at the time of the injury.
There were rumors of a Durant trade before the deadline earlier in the season. With the trio of Booker, Durant, and Beal not working, KD will most likely be traded in the offseason. I’m sure the success of the upcoming road trip will say a lot regarding his status moving forward. If Phoenix wins three in a row, then the chances of Durant playing are high. If they have an unsuccessful trip, then we may have seen the last of Durant in Phoenix. Check out these 11 major trade ideas published by the Bleacher Report.
