Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

The ladies on the main roster have finally got a mid-card championship. Nick Aldis announced on Smackdown they will be crowning a Women’s United States Champion. NXT introduced the Women’s North American title and Kelani Jordan was the first champion. I’m assuming there won’t be a Women’s Intercontinental Championship. If there were it probably would’ve been introduced on Monday Night Raw. If that’s the case, it seems like the Women’s United Champion will be defending the title on both Raw and Smackdown. The big question now is, when will the tournament start? Who will be the participants? Who should become the inaugural Women’s United States champion? Below are some ladies who should become the First’s Women’s United States champion.

Minchin

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

My number one option is Mia Yam aka Minchin. Minchin has been so valuable to the WWE over the past few months. She went to NXT and put on some great matches. On Smackdown, she has delivered whenever she gets TV time. While they may not see her a world champion material, the Women’s United States championship would be great. Minchin can put on great matches with anyone, and the fans have always gotten behind her.

Chelsea Green

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Chelsea Green is golden in whatever position you put her in. She is a great character and has been the most entertaining female performer in my opinion. Whenever she gets TV time, she makes the most of it and should be rewarded. In the ring, she’s a good performer also and being the Women’s United States championship would be great for her.

Bayley

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Bayley is on this list because this would add to her Hall of Fame legacy. Bayley has already won every championship in the WWE. She along with Sasha Banks were the first Women’s Tag Team champions. Bayley becoming the first Women’s United States Champion would give the championship some credibility.

Naomi

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Naomi left the WWE a couple years ago with Sasha Banks when they were tag champs. She went to Impact Wrestling and became their champion. Naomi made her return at the Royal Rumble last year and have had a good year. She has been featured on Smackdown a lot since her return. Naomi has fought for the Women’s Championship a few times but has come up short. She more than deserve to become the first Women’s United States champion. Will it happen? We will have to wait and see.

Piper Niven

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Piper Niven is a solid in-ring competitor. As a matter of fact, she’s underrated when it comes to her abilities in the ring. She has been paired with Chelsea Green for over a year now. They have won the tag titles, but don’t seem to be in contention lately. If they don’t go with Chelsea, they could go with Niven as the first Women’s United States champion. The storyline between her and Chelsea Green would be crazy if she captured the championship instead of Green. If you turn it the other way around, it will make for compelling TV. This could be a great way to break them up if that’s in the works.

Ivy Nile

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Ivy Nile is a part of the group American Made alongside the Creed Brothers and Chad Gable. The group has so much potential, but they really haven’t done anything. If we want to start taking this group seriously they need to do something like have a championship. We look at Chad Gable as someone who could have a title. The Creed Brothers are future tag team champions. With Ivy Nile, this could be a great starting point for a push for American Made.

Raquel Rodriguez

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Raquel Rodriguez have had a tough year in 2024. Rodriguez dealt with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome at the start of the year. She detailed her experiences with the disease on her social media platforms. She returned to help Liv Morgan defeat Rhea Ripley. She has aligned herself with Morgan and the Judgement Day faction. It would be a feel good story for her to go on and capture the Women’s United States championship. Rodriguez was one of the brightest stars in the women’s division before her illness. As far as storyline goes, having her and Liv Morgan with gold could make for compelling TV.

Zelina Vega

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

There have been quite a few wrestling fans online wanting her to get a push. I’m not sure if the WWE sees her as a world champion. Seeing her becoming the first Women’s United States champion is something I’m cool with. Vega has the look, and she’s underrated on the mic. She hasn’t been in anything meaningful in a long time. I’d get behind her becoming the Women’s United States champion and the fans would also.

Charlotte Flair

Who Should Become the First Women’s United States Champion?

Last, but not least we have Charlotte Flair becoming the first Women’s United States champion. Flair suffered a horrendous knee injury on Smackdown almost a year ago. Flair tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a SmackDown match against Asuka. We don’t know the timetable for her return, but I’m thinking it’s soon. People love to bash Flair because she’s a 14-time world champion. If she’s comfortable, having her win the Women’s United States Championship would be great. It would keep her away from the world title picture and she could elevate other women.
