Trav’s Week 10 College Football Picks

Week 9 is in the books, and we are now heading to November. This is crunch time as teams position themselves for the playoffs. With it being a 12-team playoff this year, we have quite a few teams vying for those spots. Oregon remains the #1 team in the country after blowing out the Illinois Fighting Illini. My record for the Week 9 picks was 9-0. My overall record goes up to 42-18 and the winning percentage jumps from 64.7% to 70%. Penn State, Miami, BYU, and Indiana all remain unbeaten after wins this past weekend. Ohio State barely escaped with a win over Nebraska after their bye week. In the big game of the week, Texas A&M took care of LSU to remain the only unbeaten team in SEC play. I’ll be picking another nine games this upcoming weekend. Check out Trav’s Week 10 college football picks below.

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksThe big game of the weekend takes place between two top 5 Big Ten teams. The 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes hit the road to face the 3rd ranked Penn State Nittany Lions. If the Buckeyes were to fall, would they have a shot at the playoffs? Ohio State fell to Oregon by one point three weeks ago. Last week, they barely defeated Nebraska at home, so the Buckeyes need an impressive outing. Can the Buckeyes hand Penn State their first loss? Penn State is one of three Big Ten teams without a conference defeat. The big question heading into this game is the status of Drew Allar. The Nittany Lions starting quarterback is a game time decision as he’s dealing with a left knee injury. Because of that, I’m going with the Buckeyes to win. Ohio State Win 24-20

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe have the only other matchup featuring two top 20 teams this weekend. The 18th ranked and undefeated Pitt Panthers head to Texas to face the 20th ranked SMU Mustangs. The Panthers have surprised everyone by being undefeated. This game against SMU will be their toughest test to date. The Panthers have uncertainty heading into this critical matchup. Quarterback Eli Holstein will be a game time decision as he’s dealing with a head injury. Can Pitt remain unbeaten after this game? SMU remains only one of four teams that remain undefeated in ACC play with another being Pitt. The only loss on their record was at the hands of the BYU Cougars. The Mustangs have had impressive wins over Duke and Louisville this season. The defense could be a huge factor if the Panthers are without their signal caller. Either way, I’m picking the Mustangs to win. SMU Win 31-20

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head to the Big Ten Conference as the top ranked Oregon Ducks head to Michigan to face the Wolverines. Oregon is the best team in the country and both sides of the ball have been dominating. Dillon Gabriel is arguably the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy as we speak. The defense has slowly become one of the best in the country. Can they go on the road and continue to dominate against a struggling Michigan team? Michigan had their 2 game losing streak snapped last week against Michigan State. The Wolverines have struggled on the offensive side of the ball. The offense is scoring the same amount of points the defense is giving up. How will the defense fare against Gabriel and the Ducks offense? The Ducks continue their winning ways as they should leave Ann Arbor with the win. Oregon Win 30-17

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head to the SEC where we have a matchup that’s called the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. The Florida Gators will take on the 2nd ranked Georgia Bulldogs in Jacksonville. The Gators need two more wins to become bowl eligible at the end of the season. After this game, they still have Texas, LSU and Ole Miss before finishing with Florida State. Many looked at Coach Napier as one of the many coaches on the hot seat this season. With Georgia, they also have a couple of tough games after this one. They travel to Ole Miss next week and that’s followed by a home game against Tennessee. The Bulldogs are trying to win out to have a chance to play in the SEC Championship game. The Bulldogs should pull away in the second half to win this game. Georgia Win 34-21

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head to the ACC as the Duke Blue Devils head to Miami to face the 5th ranked Hurricanes. Duke began the season winning their first five games. They enter this contest against Miami after losing two of their last three games. The Blue Devils boast a top 20 scoring defense, but one of the worst on offense. Can this offense be efficient against the Canes suspect defense? Will Maalik Murphy guide the offense to an upset? Miami continues to find ways to win games. The three previous games before their blowout of Florida State were close. They won those games by a total of 12 points and the defense gave up an average of 39 points. Cam Ward continues to show why he’s one of the Heisman frontrunners this season. I’m going with the Hurricanes to continue to remain unbeaten. Miami Win 41-24

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head back to the SEC as the 10th ranked Texas A&M Aggies travel to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks. Texas A&M is the only team in the SEC without a conference loss this season. If they get by the Gamecocks, they have Auburn and at home against Texas remaining on their schedule. The Aggies are coming off an impressive win at home against the LSU Tigers. The only blemish on their record was the opening weekend loss against Notre Dame. Texas A&M has one of the best rushing offenses in the country. The defense also ranks in the top 20 in scoring. South Carolina has three losses this season. Two of those defeats came at the hands of LSU and Alabama. They loss those games by a total of 5 points. The Aggies should prevail in a close one. Texas A&M Win 27-24

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head back to the ACC as the Louisville Cardinal head to Clemson to battle the 11th ranked Tigers. The Cardinal have dropped three games, and the losses were by seven points. They had a chance to beat Notre Dame, SMU and the Miami Hurricanes. Louisville has one of the best pass offenses in the country. The defense is hit or miss and is known for giving up a lot of points. How will they handle the Tigers offense? Clemson has become one of the best teams in the country after their opening weekend loss to Georgia. Cade Klubnik is slowly becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the country. The Tigers remain one of four undefeated teams in ACC play. They play at Pitt, which is another unbeaten ACC team, in a couple of weeks. I’m going with the Tigers to continue to win. Clemson Win 38-28

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head back to the SEC as the 19th ranked Ole Miss heads to Arkansas to face the Razorbacks. Ole Miss is still hoping to have an outside shot at the playoffs. It begins here and they would need to win out to do so. They have a game at home against Georgia next weekend. While the Rebels are known for their offense, the defense is keeping them up all season. The defense is giving up 11 points a game and that’s good for tops in the nation. Arkansas is a tough place to play for road teams. The Razorbacks have one of the more balanced offenses in the nation. They rank in the top 30 in both passing and rushing. How will they fare against the Rebels defense? The Rebels should leave with the win before their Georgia game. Ole Miss Win 34-21

Trav’s Week 10 College Football PicksTrav’s Week 10 College Football PicksWe head to the Big Ten for this matchup. The Wisconsin Badgers will head to Iowa to face the Hawkeyes. The Badgers had their 3 game winning streak snapped with their loss to Penn State. The winner of this game will qualify for a bowl game. As always, the Badgers possess one of the more physical defenses in the nation. The Badgers rely on their defense and great run game. Can they go into their bye week with a win? Iowa comes into this game looking to become bowl eligible. Cade McNamara won’t be available this game for the Hawkeyes. Iowa boasts a top 25 scoring defense also, so this could be a defensive battle. Iowa already has one of the worse passing offenses, but the run game is top 20. The Hawkeyes will find a way to win. Iowa Win 16-14
