Joel Embiid Signs 3-Year Extension with 76ers
Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a 3-year extension worth $193 million. Embiid is coming off a 2023-24 season where he played in only 39 games and averaged per game career highs with 34.7 points and 5.6 assists. He also shot 52.9% from the field, 88.3% from the free throw line and 38.8% from three-point range. The 30-year-old Embiid is a seven-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, and was All-NBA First Team in 2023 to go along with his only MVP award. Embiid spent the summer helping Team USA with the Gold Medal at the 2024 Olympics.
As you can see my his Instagram post, Embiid calls Philadelphia his home. Joel states he wants to be with the franchise that drafted him for the rest of his career. The 76ers have been in the news with the announcement of them getting a new arena.
