5 Potential Destinations for Brandon Ingram
The 2024 NBA Draft is over and now we’re heading to the free agency period. We have already got a lot of players like Bam Adebayo, Pascal Siakam, Jamal Murray, and others signing new deals. One big name that’s looking for an extension is Brandon Ingram. Brandon Ingram is one of the better scorers in the league but could be the odd man out in New Orleans. Brandon Ingram is most likely on the move, and he should have plenty of suitors. Where can you see Ingram playing next season? Below are 5 potential destinations for Brandon Ingram to play in the near future.
New Orleans Pelicans
The ball is in the court of the New Orleans Pelicans. They are on the clock to get a deal done before they seek out a trade for Ingram. The Pelicans and Ingram could work something out at the last minute. With his injury history alongside Zion Williamson, it’s looking more likely he’s moved. They have already given Zion a lot of money with his injury history, so they wouldn’t want to commit too much money. If I’m a betting man, I’d say that New Orleans will move him soon.
Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks will look to make some moves during the offseason. It has been rumored that they are looking for a move wither Tray Young or Dejounte Murray. The Pelicans need a solid point guard and either of them would be perfect. The Pelicans could also look at Clint Capela also. Capela has been rumored to be traded seeing he’s in the last year of his current deal. With Valanciunas looking to test free agency, the Pelicans could use a big man to replace him. The Pelicans and Hawks deal would make a lot of sense on both sides.
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers will try to sign another big name player to go alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Tobias Harris will become a free agent after his max deal expired with the Sixers. I’ve named Paul George as someone Philadelphia could target. Ingram would be a great third option behind Embiid and Maxey. He would provide more consistent and productive scoring than Harris and provide the team’s need for more out of the wing position in Philadelphia in general. Ingram would make more sense than Paul George because he’s much younger.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers could be an option for Brandon Ingram. First, they must see if Donovan Mitchell will sign his extension. If Mitchell were to resign with the Cavs it would mean they’re building a championship contender. If Mitchell does stay in Cleveland that would probably mean that Darius Garland is gone. Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen would be appealing for the Pelicans. The future of the Cavs and this possibility depends on Donovan Mitchell.
Los Angeles Clippers
Could Paul George and Brandon Ingram get what they want? It seems like both are headed for a new team, but what if they’re traded for one another? The Clippers don’t have much to offer to the Pelicans. New Orleans could use another veteran and Paul George could be that guy. The Clippers are hoping to get younger to go alongside aging veterans. Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, assuming he stays could benefit from having Brandon Ingram. Ingram was drafted by the Lakers, so he knows about the culture and how Los Angeles works.
