Christian McCaffrey Signs Extension with 49ers
Christian McCaffrey is arguably the best running back in the NFL. With all the new deals like Saquon Barkley signing with the Eagles, his compensation didn’t match his ranking. Just one day after Justin Jefferson reset the wide receiver market, McCaffrey has done the same thing. The 49ers have signed Christian McCaffrey to a 2-year, $38 million deal. The new money is a bigger deal than the $11.8 million in 2024 compensation. McCaffrey originally signed a four-year, $64 million extension in 2020 with Carolina. He had more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage in 2023, with 21 total touchdowns. In 2019, he became only the third player in NFL history (joining Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig) to have 1,000 or more rushing yards and 1,000 or more receiving yards in the same season. The Niners traded for him during the 2022 season, and he’s propelled the offense ever since.
What do you think about the new deal for Christian McCaffrey? How will the Niners fare this season? Leave some feedback below about anything related to McCaffrey or the Niners.
